Metro Retail Stores Group launches baking workshop

As part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives on Skills Training and Employment Program, Metro Retail Stores Group, Inc. (MRSGI), through its ancillary business, Suisse Cottage, recently kicked off its baking workshop series at Metro Supermarket Alabang. This project, in coordination with local government units, provides free lecture and hands on training in baking classic pandesal, the Cebuano delicacy siakoy, and banana walnut choco chip bread. The first baking workshop was attended by select residents of Muntinlupa barangays that included Poblacion, Sucat, Tunasan, Alabang, Bayanan, Buli, and Cupang. Participants were delighted to have gained baking knowledge and skills that could help them find employment or set up their own small bakery business. In the coming months, MRSGI will roll out the baking workshop to other Metro Supermarkets in various communities nationwide.
