Livelihood Training Programs for Unemployed Filipinos

livelihood trainingsThe Department of Labor and Employment reports that the number of unemployed persons in July 2009 was estimated at 2.9 million persons, higher by 6.3 percent than the estimate reported last year of the same survey period at 2.7 million persons. In addition, there is an estimated half a million graduates who would be looking for a job giving the country an approximate 7.7 percent unemployment rate for the year 2009 from 7.4 percent in 2008. Even worst, more and more Filipinos are being displaced by companies everyday here and abroad.

Faced with this kind of problem, Filipinos are left with no choice but to find other means to earn a living. One good option is to create your own business and be your own boss. There are business agencies and government institutions that make livelihood training programs available to those who are committed to start their own business. This would be the answer to the growing unemployment rate in the country.

This will help many aspiring young entrepreneurs to learn lessons from business operation to entrepreneurship as well as marketing. Most of these business and livelihood training agencies offered courses from entrepreneurship, product development, marketing and financing. They also have available brochures, booklets and CDs that would help and guide aspiring Filipino entrepreneurs in starting and executing their business. To generate even a wider reach, some of these agencies established their own TV program aired over different television shows aiming to create a livelihood opportunities for more Filipinos.

  1. Gusto ko pong mag lunsad ng livelihood programs/projects para dito sa lugar namin sa payatas. Livelihood programs/projects na madali po at sustainable na mapapakinabangan bilang kabuhayan ng mga taga rito sa payatas.

  4. Why not the government make a solution for this unemployed individuals. Why not hiring them to clean streets, more police, enforcers etc. Why government did not use minerals and oils in our country. Mining and oil are taking by some countries.Why not our government oprate it? Why our government do not purchase equipments to be used to build our own business.Steel, Nickel Copper, gold, cobalt, charcoal, and duterium resources . Who own these? who managed? and who benefited these? Why are we still depend on importation? Rice Production why our government do not buy our own products?

A better economy means nothing if anyone can’t find a job. improvement in national economy should means more jobs, but this is not the case. jobs will open up but these jobs requires people of higher education. not the kind most people in the Philippines are qualified for and foreign investments doesn’t do anything for this problem. all we need is some initiative and sense

  11. hello po…magandang araw po.  ako po si donald valdes ng tondo, manila. kanino po kaya ako puwedeng humingi ng tulong para sa kaunting puhunan pampatayo ng maliit na tindahan sa harap ng aming bahay? ako po ay nawalan ng trabaho kailan lamang po at hindi ko po alam ang aking gagawin upang mabuhay sa ngayon ang aking pamilya. may 5 anak ako na pawang nag-aaral. magkokolehiyo ang isa, ang isa ay 2nd year highschool, isang grade 5,  isang grade 4 at isang grade 1. buntis din ang asawa ko at wala ring trabaho. kailangang kailangan ko po ng tulong at wala talaga kaming pera sa ngayon. kahit po panimulang loan lamang upang magpatayo ng kahit maliit na tindahan dito sa tondo, manila. salamat po! maaari po akong sulatan sa aking facebook account or atleast dito po sa  e-mail add (valdesdonald@yahoo.com) ko. ang aking number po ay 2374007.

  13. Hi, actually, I have taken a courses in one of the livelihood schools you mentioned but nothing happened. I am now earning through online writing while doing tutorial jobs. I guess one just have to hone one’s skills and not involve oneself to so many things because it will only confuse you. Thanks though for sharing. These business news will help a lot of Pilipinos.
