When you were young, you probably received so much advice about only working in fields that were devoted to your passion. Unfortunately, sometimes, however, these fields are not possible to attain and you have to pursue a new path. You may not know where to begin looking, but you can know that you can achieve a well-paying career option by considering one of the choices below.

1. Accountant

Accounting is an excellent field to consider if you want a job that pays well. You have to obtain certification in accounting that you want to perform and take an exam. If you want to become a certified public accountant, for instance, you will have to undergo some CPA exam preparation so that you can pass and obtain the necessary certification. After you pass the exam, however, you can help businesses and individuals in society make better financial decisions and help them make sense of their financial data.

2. Physical Therapist

If you are interested in helping others and in working in the medical field, consider work as a physical therapist. You will help individuals who have undergone some type of muscular injury or have an illness that affects their muscular strength. You can make upwards of $80,000 as a physical therapist, and you will easily see the results of your hard work when a patient can move better again. Plus, this is a career field that is always on the rise, with some statistics suggesting that at least 50,000 more physical therapists will be needed in the next decade.

3. Web Developer

If you have a creative side and enjoy working with technology, consider a career as a web developer. When you go to any business or any nonprofit website, you see the results of what a web developer has done. Often, all you need for this high-paying job is an Associate’s degree in web design, but this is up to the business that is hiring for the position. In many cases too, a job as a web developer may be available as a remote role so that you can work from the comfort of your home.

4. College Professor

You can come from any career background and with any interest and pursue a career as a college professor. For many colleges, however, you will need to have your doctorate degree in order to obtain the position that you want. Most professors make as much as $70,000 to $80,000 per year depending on the school that they have decided to teach at as well. Plus, you get to make a daily impact on college students who are looking to become experts and are looking to succeed in their own chosen career paths.

5. Construction Manager

The final career option that is high-paying and that does not require the same level of education as the others is a construction manager. The managers are not always at the construction site, but they put a lot of effort into supervision and into following the code that is required. Sometimes, these managers do make at least six figures, and some pursue an undergraduate degree in building management or business management. Some, as mentioned, however, only rely on their experiences to eventually become a manager in the field.

The five career options listed above are only the beginning of those that pay well and that allow for you to grow your skills. Some require you to obtain education or pass an exam, while others you are able to advance to through your own experiences.
