How To Make Homemade Embutido

Embutido is a type of meatloaf made of ground pork wrapped around slices of sausages, boiled eggs, pickle relish, raisins, carrots, bell peppers and seasonings. Embutido when frozen in the fridge will last up to 3 months. Making homemade embutido is a good business idea to start. You can try the recipe below.

Homemade Embutido

Ingredients:

2 lbs ground pork
2 pcs vienna sausage or 6 pcs hotdogs, cut in half lengthwise
3 pcs hard boiled eggs, sliced
1/2 cup sweet pickle relish
1/2 cup tomato sauce
2 pcs raw eggs
2 cups cheddar cheese, grated
1 cup red bell pepper, minced
1 cup green bell pepper, minced
1 1/2 cup raisins
1 cup carrots, minced
1 cup onion, minced
salt and pepper
2 cups bread crumbs (made by placing 4 slices of tasty bread in a food processor. If not using any food processor, just tear the bread.)

Cooking Procedures:

1. Place the ground pork in a large container
2. Add the bread crumbs then break the raw eggs and add it in. Mix well.
3. Put-in the carrots, bell pepper (red and green), onion, pickle relish, and cheddar cheese. Mix thoroughly
4. Add the raisins, tomato sauce, salt, and pepper then mix well.
5. Place the meat mixture in an aluminum foil and flatten it. (see video for guidance)
6. Put in the sliced vienna sausage and sliced boiled eggs alternately on the middle of the flat meat mixture.
7. Roll the foil to form a cylinder locking the sausage and egg in the middle if the meat mixture. Once done, lock the edges of the foil.
8. Place in a steamer and let cook for 1 hour.
9. Place inside the refrigerator until temperature turns cold 10. Slice and serve. Share and Enjoy!

Embutido Recipe from Ladyschoice

Ingredients

1 1/2 cup breadcrumbs or panko
1 cup milk
1/2 cup Lady’s Choice mayonnaise
2 lbs ground pork
1 cup onion, grated
2 garlic cloves, grated
1/2 cup red bell pepper, minced
1/2 cup green bell pepper, minced
1/2 cup carrots, minced
1/2 cup sweet pickle relish
1/4 cup tomato sauce or ketchup
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup cheddar cheese, grated
1 tbsp soy sauce or liquid seasoning
1/2 cup ham, cut into medium dice
8 pcs of Vienna sausage, cut lengthwise
3 each hard-boiled eggs, quartered
1 tbsp ground black pepper
2 tbsps salt

Steps

1. Combine bread crumbs, milk, and Lady’s Choice Real Mayonnaise in a bowl. Set aside.
2. In a separate bowl, combine ground pork, vegetables, sweet pickle relish, tomato sauce, raisins, cheese, soy sauce or liquid seasoning, salt and pepper.
3. Add the bread crumb mixture to the ground pork mixture and combine thoroughly but do not overmix.
4. Divide meat mixture into two.
5. Place one portion of the meat mixture onto a piece of aluminum foil and flatten to form a rectangle roughly 9″ by 6″ in size.
6. Place ham, vienna sausage, and eggs alternately in the middle of the mixture
7. Tightly roll the foil to form a cylinder with the meat mixture and wrap ends firmly. Repeat with other half of the mixture.
8. Place in a steamer over medium heat and let cook for 1 hour. Alternatively, bake embutido placed on a wire rack in a baking dish with water, covered at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 1 hour
9. With either method, cook for an hour or until an instant read thermometer reads 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
10. Let cool, slowly unwrap from foil and serve.
